We are raising funds to provide specialist support to children and young people who have been sexually abused. We work in Suffolk and Norfolk, supporting children from as young as three, up to the age of 18. Our aim is that with our support, our beneficiaries can move forward with their lives.

An estimated one in ten children will experience sexual abuse before the age of 16 - the equivalent of three children in every classroom. This is approximately 14,000 children in Suffolk and 16,000 in Norfolk. When children and young people first come to Brave Futures, they present with a wide range of symptoms, including anxiety, PTSD, flashbacks, nightmares, low self-esteem and self-harm. Our aim is to provide a safe space where they can feel safe, listened to and supported.
We provide specialist support to children and young people, as well as other family members (parents/carers and siblings). This is through weekly face-to-face sessions with a dedicated, trained practitioner at one of our hubs located in Norfolk and Suffolk. We also carry out engagement work. Whilst we can never eradicate child sexual abuse, we can shine a light on the issue and we are working to raise awareness about the issue in our local communities and with local professionals.
