Too many Deaf, deafblind and people with hearing loss face barriers that most hearing people never have to consider. They struggle to access healthcare, understand important information, communicate with mainstream services and stay connected to their communities. As people grow older, these challenges intensify, leading to isolation, declining health and loss of independence. Demand for our specialist support continues to grow while statutory services become increasingly difficult to access.
For 75 years, the Jewish Deaf Association has been breaking down barriers for Deaf, Deafblind and people with hearing loss. We provide specialist advice and advocacy, help people access healthcare and essential services, reduce loneliness through social and wellbeing activities, and support people to live independently. We also train care homes and community organisation to improve communication and make services more inclusive.
