Emmaus Hampshire is looking for funds to expand its programme of employment-focussed training courses and counselling to prepare vulnerable, socially-excluded, homeless people for work, so that they can regain their independence and live sustainably back in society.

Many people become homeless after losing a job, but increasingly people are also becoming homeless despite being in work due to low wages, insecure employment and high housing costs. After experiencing homelessness, rebuilding confidence, skills and financial stability can feel overwhelming. Without tailored support to gain sustainable employment and move into independent living, many people remain trapped in the cycle of homelessness.
Emmaus Hampshire helps companions transition from homelessness to employment. In 2027, we aim to increase the number of companions moving on to independent living by providing more counselling, accredited training, qualifications, driving lessons, employability coaching and job application support. This will equip companions with the confidence, skills and opportunities to secure sustainable employment and rebuild their lives.
