Classical music is often concentrated in cities, while rural areas face fewer cultural opportunities, limited public transport and rising costs. Many people in North and East Yorkshire have limited regular access to high-quality live music, especially in local venues close to where they live. At the same time, young musicians need platforms, mentoring and audiences if they are to develop successful careers.

Ryedale Festival will present concerts, learning projects and community activity across North and East Yorkshire, bringing outstanding artists to perform in Yorkshire while creating opportunities for young artists, schools, first-time attenders, volunteers and young people interested in careers in the arts.
