In Deep Sea, Nairobi, girls grow up with the odds stacked against them. This holiday programme changes that. Girls will lead real businesses, learn financial skills and build confidence in their futures. Boys will learn to be allies. Your donation empowers a whole family, not just a child.

Deep Sea is one of Nairobi's most underserved communities. Girls face gender-based violence, teenage pregnancy and a culture where harmful gender norms go unchallenged: boys are expected to provide, girls are expected to depend on them. This narrative is pervasive and damaging. During school holidays, with no safe provision, young people are left unsupervised and exposed to risk. Without intervention, these cycles of poverty and low aspiration repeat, and girls bear the heaviest cost.
Fursa runs safe, nurturing clubs at our Hub in Deep Sea year-round. Our December holiday programme will centre girls in money management, business and entrepreneurship. Girls will design and lead real enterprises. Boys will participate in women-led businesses, exploring their roles and needs in society to become genuine allies. All children will visit women-led businesses, hear from speakers and attend a camp. Menstrual products and seed funding for girl-led businesses will be provided.
