At St Raphael’s Hospice, we know that the end of your life is just as important as the life you’ve lived. We believe everyone deserves expert and compassionate care through death, dying and loss, and we are dedicated to continuing our support for patients’ loved ones after their time with us.

End-of-life care provision can be unequal, unreliable, and underfunded. As the population ages and existing care systems come under increasing strain, many people are not met with the care they need and deserve. Those impacted by a bereavement can also be left without support, both before and after loss. This extends to wellbeing care for people living with life-limiting illnesses, who are not given the tools they need to live well into old age, nor access to a supportive community.

St Raphael’s Hospice exists to give expert and compassionate care to people towards and at the end of life, focusing on pain management and personalised treatment in a comfortable and dignified environment. This has an additional positive effect on patients’ loved ones, to whom we offer bereavement support and counselling throughout. We also help those with life-limiting illnesses live well through our Wellbeing Centre, a community hub of learning and friendship.
