In Bath & North East Somerset, young people facing challenges like poor mental health, school difficulties or family breakdown are falling through gaps in support, caused by cuts to vital services and growing pressure on schools and families. Without the timely, consistent support they need, many are left feeling alone and misunderstood, pushed away from their education, community and the lives they deserve.

Through our volunteer mentoring programme, we meet young people where they are, offering a whole year of support built around them. Referrals often come via school or family, but mentoring itself is a choice: young people decide whether to take part, what they share, and how support is joined up around them. For a young person who has felt let down or alone, having trusted adults in their corner, without judgement, can transform their wellbeing, confidence and how they see their future.
