Outside In supports artists who face significant barriers to the arts for reasons of health, disability, isolation and socio-economic circumstance. Help us to nurture diverse talent, provide development opportunities, and showcase work from underrepresented artists.

92% of Outside In artists experience isolation. This issue is compounded by an exclusive art world that fails to represent marginalised voices. Art should inspire change, yet less than a third of venues regularly support or present work by Disabled or neurodivergent artists, and only 8% come from working-class backgrounds.

Outside In breaks down mainstream barriers and builds creative communities to champion a fairer art world. Since 2006, we have supported over 5,000 artists and reached 1 million people through 50+ exhibitions. Our professional development courses have empowered nearly 300 artists, with an incredible 73% securing employment in the arts. Through our Make Art programme, we have connected over 980 artists, providing vital creative hubs that directly combat profound social isolation.
