20,000 children reunited with their family by 2030 - that's our ambition. As the UK's only charity specialising in international child protection, CFAB helps children separated from loved ones across international borders reconnect with them safely. Because every child deserves family.

Around a third of children in care in England and Wales have family overseas who could offer them a safe, loving home, yet less than 1% have the opportunity to grow up with them. Instead, too many spend months or years in care when a safe family may already exist. With the cost of care at around £5 billion a year, this places undue pressure on our overstretched system. But ultimately, it is children who bear the greatest cost: poorer outcomes and futures shaped by care, not connection to family.
CFAB makes family possible where borders make it seem impossible. When children are separated from family by international borders, most social workers don't know where to turn. CFAB does. We identify, trace and assess family members across 130 countries, uncovering safe family options that would otherwise be missed. Every year, we help thousands of children and professionals find safe solutions, giving more children the chance to grow up with family, identity and belonging, rather than in care.
