Golf can do far more than teach a sport. By giving young people the chance to experience the game, we help them build confidence, resilience and wellbeing, developing skills that help them navigate life's challenges both on and off the course.

Through our work with schools, community groups and golf clubs, we see first-hand the growing challenges many young people face. Teachers tell us that confidence, emotional resilience and engagement are increasingly affecting children's ability to learn, participate and reach their potential. There is a growing need for programmes that support young people's personal development and help them build the skills needed to navigate life's challenges.
The Golf Foundation addresses this challenge through Unleash Your Drive, an evidence-based programme that uses golf to help young people build confidence, resilience and wellbeing. Delivered in schools through fun, engaging activities, children learn nine mental toughness tools that support emotional control, commitment and confidence. Our impact measurement has recorded a 19% increase in understanding and application of the tools, a 6% increase in overall wellbeing.
