In the UK, 39% of disabled people are uncertain their needs will be met by cultural venues. 1 in 8 Curve visitors has additional access needs and demand for essential companion tickets has grown by 62% since 2023. Our technology needs an urgent upgrade and the cost of producing accessible performances continues to rise. We want to make sure that everyone can enjoy their visit to Curve with confidence, a warm welcome and the support they need to enjoy great theatre.
We will upgrade our assisted listening technology, improving sound quality of audio description for people with sight loss and amplification for d/Deaf and hard of hearing patrons. Your support will provide free tickets for essential companions, BSL interpreted, audio described and captioned performances. It will enhance wayfinding and support essential access awareness training for our team.
