The UK is living through a mental health epidemic. For young adults aged 18 to 30, the crisis is acute. The proportion of 16 to 24 year olds living with a common mental health condition rose from 17.5% in 2007 to 25.8% in 2023 and 2024. The tragedy is that support is not reaching the people who need it most. NHS waiting lists for talking therapies regularly stretch beyond six months. Private therapy is out of reach for the majority of young adults.

A programme of wellbeing walks in an accessible location designed to reach more people who face financial and social barriers to participation. It will also fund mental wellbeing retreat spaces specifically for 18 to 30 year olds, a group disproportionately affected by the current mental health crisis and chronically underserved by statutory provision.
