Culture Shift is raising funds to continue to deliver creative workshops and BIG BOBS Day events for disabled adults and those who care for them, bringing people together in venues across Sussex to participate in artist-led activity, building new relationships, skills, confidence and wellbeing.

It is well documented that disabled adults experience health and socio-economic inequalities. We also know that disabled adults and their carers and support staff lack access to opportunities for social inclusion, particularly access to creative activity due to barriers such as transport and affordability. We also know that disabled people often have limited experience of diverse art-forms such as poetry, dance, theatre and visual arts and are rarely given opportunities to co-design activity.
BOBS In Sussex tackles these problems in the following positive, creative ways; 1. activity happens in venues across the county to reach as many people as possible in parts of the county which are generally under-served 2. a participant steering group (our BOBS Brains) co-designs activity 3. a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, including social, creative, emotional and physical elements 4. activity is fully funded 5. all activity is led by a brilliant team of professional creatives
