Pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain (PGP) affects 1 in 5 during and/or after pregnancy and, if left untreated, can cause mobility issues, pain with daily activities and severely impact mental health. Due to widespread misinformation about the condition, women are often not referred for treatment early enough or at all. Many women describe severe pain, dismissal from healthcare practitioners, and are still affected years or decades postpartum.

With proper assessment and treatment, PGP can be effectively managed. We can improve outcomes for these women by ensuring they can access the treatment they need by: Providing reliable information on PGP and its treatment to those experiencing PGP and to healthcare practitioners Providing peer support to those experiencing PGP, to guide them in day to day management of symptoms and seeking effective treatment
