Stand with us to reunite families and defend the right to freedom. Every year, people are held in detention centres across the UK, separated from their loved ones. Your support will help us provide free legal advice and representation so people can apply for bail.

Every day, people are held in immigration detention across the UK, often without a time limit or access to a lawyer. This has a devastating impact not only on the person detained but also on their loved ones. Parents are separated from their children, families are left in distress and uncertainty, and people are cut off from the support they need. Without legal advice, people are far less able to access the rights they are entitled to, challenge their detention or secure release.
BID provides free legal advice and representation to help people apply for immigration bail. Through our advice line and casework, we help people get out of detention and return to their loved ones. Where parents are separated from children, we work to ensure the Home Office properly considers their best interests, while using our legal expertise to challenge unfair decisions and reduce the use of detention overall.
