In the UK, the asylum system has become almost impossible to navigate without expert legal assistance. Over half of people seeking asylum are unable to access a lawyer, leaving thousands of people Isolated, vulnerable and in a constant state of uncertainty. Legal support can change this. It helps people understand their rights, access protection, reunite with loved ones and start rebuilding their lives in safety.

RLS provides vital legal support to over 3,000 people seeking safety each year. We deliver legal information sessions, community workshops, specialist asylum, clinics and self-help legal resources, helping people exercise their rights and secure access to justice. We reach communities that others often cannot. 80% of the people we work with have never spoken to lawyer before, so our support is often the only source of help available to the communities we work with.
