CPRE, the Campaign to Protect Rural England, has been standing up for the countryside we know and love for 100 years. As we mark our centenary, we're bringing people together to help protect the next 100 years too, creating a countryside which is more beautiful, resilient and alive with possibility.

Our finite land is under growing strain. From producing food to tackling climate change and creating space for homes and infrastructure. Too often, the decisions made about how this land is used lead to needless loss of landscapes and wildlife. CPRE’s role is to protect our countryside for future generations, and we are needed now more than ever.

Our research shows that the countryside is important to millions of us, and that its destruction would be devastating. We are bringing people together to stop the needless loss of the places we love. We challenge bad decisions and champion better ways to use land so it can provide food, homes and energy while nurturing nature. We do this by uplifting local voices and influencing policy change at the highest level so that our countryside can flourish and be renewed for future generations.
