Many young adults leave prison facing significant barriers to rebuilding their lives. They often struggle to access stable housing, employment, benefits and community support while navigating complex systems and major life changes. Many lack positive support networks and experience isolation, poor mental health and financial insecurity. Without the foundations needed for a successful transition, they are at greater risk of poor outcomes and further involvement in the criminal justice system.

Trailblazers supports people in prison and after release through one-to-one mentoring and practical support, helping them build the confidence, stability and relationships needed to rebuild their lives. At Christmas, when loneliness and isolation can be at their greatest, we provide mentoring, care packages, hampers and opportunities to feel connected and valued. With just 7% of our mentees reoffending, we know that consistent support and positive relationships can transform lives.
