Children in Flintshire, North East Wales, begin their musical journey through Theatr Clwyd’s Music Service Delivery in schools and via introductory programmes. We have seen that children and young people benefit enormously from access to high-quality music education and opportunities to perform, create and learn alongside others. However, these opportunities rely on specialist music teachers, musicians and creative professionals whose expertise makes participation possible.
As the largest cultural provider in North East Wales, Theatr Clwyd provides musical pathways that support children and young people from first experiences of music through to sustained participation and progression. Through Big Give funding, we will invest in the specialist workforce, enabling high-quality lessons, ensembles, choirs and performance opportunities to support young people's confidence, mental health wellbeing, while helping them develop skills, friendships and musical aspirations.
