Waterloo Uncovered is the ground breaking charity which uses battlefield archaeology to improve the wellbeing of veterans and serving military personnel. Help us to continue our programmes to enrich the lives of those who have served our country through discovery of the Battle of Waterloo.

Military personnel and veterans often suffer in silence as a hard to reach community. They may have mental and physical health conditions, feel isolated and miss out on relevant support and opportunities. Overcoming these challenges, to continue their service or transition into civilian life can be difficult. The emotional and physical legacies of their service can and do live on.

We use the power of archaeology to encourage and promote positive wellbeing and recovery. Our approach is centred around the 5 Ways to Wellbeing engaging beneficiaries in meaningful activity linked to our cultural heritage. We draw on the rich archaeology of the Battle of Waterloo to enable beneficiaries to connect with others, be active and curious about history and heritage, try something new, build confidence and give back to the community.
