4,000 young people aged 14-25 from East London participate in Hackney Empire’s Creative Futures programme every year. We are seeking support for these pioneering projects, designed with young people to fuel young artists and creative entrepreneurs.

Creative Futures enables young people to develop the creative and personal skills they need to thrive as artists and leaders. In a borough where over 60% of children live in income-deprived households, many young people face unstable housing, limited family support, and restricted access to professional networks, making pathways into the creative sector feel out of reach. We work alongside them to build the skills and confidence to shape their creative, educational, and professional futures.
Our Creative Futures programme centres young people, tailoring support to their strengths, needs and circumstances. Paid placements, professional wellbeing support and flexible working remove barriers to engagement and success. Our in-house Creative Wellbeing Producer provides intensive, wraparound support, often working together with participants' families and services including CAMHS, Family Action, the NHS and social services, so no young person has to navigate these challenges alone.
