TastEd lets children explore fruit and vegetables through their five senses, improving health, wellbeing and dietary preferences. Activities are fun, joyful, and non-pressurised, led by teachers and early-years educators. We want to improve access to our resources for children with SEND.

Data continues to show declining fruit and vegetable consumption across all age groups. Less than 9% of children eat the recommended five portions of fruit and veg a day and vegetables are the most wasted school lunch item. On average, children with SEND are more likely to experience eating and sensory challenges, which can make it harder to develop a varied diet and positive food experiences. To respond to demand, we want to tailor our resources to support growing number of children with SEND.

Our lessons unlock curiosity about food, helping children develop their own tastes and preferences while expanding their palates. Over 92% of teachers report children are more confident in trying new foods after a TastEd lesson. We provide resources and training for teachers and early years practitioners to deliver a wide range of simple, cost-effective activities, that link to the national curriculum. Due to demand, we now want to tailor some of these resources to support children with SEND.
