Families facing long hospital stays with a child need more than medical care. Building on our counselling, music therapy and Sparkle service, we’ll create a Wellbeing Hub, develop a family wellbeing coordinator role and begin work within the children's hospital to ensure no parent/carer goes hungry.

The hospital is an incredible place, but families go through experiences difficult for most to imagine. Children undergo daunting procedures, parents live with worry and uncertainty, and lives can change in an instant. Yet there is no dedicated non-clinical space to breathe, no one whose role it is to proactively identify the practical and emotional needs of families, and no guarantee that a parent has access to food. No family should face these challenges alone.
Behind every child in hospital is a family who needs us too. We will create a dedicated Wellbeing Hub - hosting youth club hangouts, stay and play sessions and specialist activities for families, with sessions brought to the ward for those who can't attend. We will recruit a family wellbeing coordinator to identify and meet the needs of families across the wards each day, and launch a food programme – the first step in our mission to ensure food provision for all parents and carers in hospital.
