In Sinazongwe District, fewer than 20% of young people complete secondary school, leaving many without the skills needed to secure work. There is currently nowhere within our catchment area where young people can access vocational training in regenerative agriculture, IT, tailoring or entrepreneurship. Climate change is reducing crop yields and incomes, while girls who leave school face greater risks of child marriage and early pregnancy, trapping families in poverty.
School Club Zambia will create a dedicated training hub at our Climate Resilience Centre, providing the first vocational training facility in our catchment area. The new building will include a training room and staff workspace, enabling us to deliver year round courses for 500 young people each year in regenerative agriculture, IT, tailoring and entrepreneurship, equipping them with the skills to find work, start businesses and build climate resilient futures.
