Home-Start IOW supports families facing a wide range of challenges. Life is tougher than ever and our work reduces the impact of difficult family circumstances on vulnerable young children. It gives parents hope and the help they need to make life better for themselves and their children.

The families we support face a range of challenging circumstances including financial hardship, isolation, inadequate housing and poor mental or physical health. Many are overwhelmed and are struggling to enjoy family life. They want to give their children the best possible start in life but find they can't do it on their own. We are seeing more demand than ever before for our service and we need help to ensure we can be there for every family that needs us - because childhood can't wait.

We will provide weekly home visiting support by experienced family support staff and trained volunteers during which they will give practical help and emotional support. By building trusting relationships we can work together with parents and empower them to work towards their own solutions. Right from the very first visit, our support is based on what parents feel they need. We nurture, listen without judgement and support parents to have the confidence to take things one step at a time.
