Through community meals that bring people together, healthy, frozen meals for those in greatest need, and food club provision for households struggling with the cost of living, we will ensure that all in BS3 have access to nutritious food and a sense of belonging this winter.

Food insecurity and rising living costs mean that many in our community struggle to access enough healthy, nutritious food. Being forced to skip meals or rely on poor-quality food due to low income, family circumstances, or housing issues leads to poorer health outcomes. Those experiencing loneliness and isolation are also at high risk of food insecurity due to less practical support being available and poorer mental health, making it difficult to shop, cook and maintain a healthy diet.

1. Provision of warm community meals at our weekly social club for older people. Sharing meals in a welcoming space tackles both food insecurity and social isolation, where people can build friendships and support networks. 2. Meet people where they are by preparing healthy frozen meals in our community café, and distributing them to individuals and families in need via community development & early years teams. 3. Continue to offer weekly, subsidised Food Clubs, open to low-income households.
