Create Music provides high-quality music education across East Sussex. Times are tough for families we support. Our bursaries remove barriers, offer opportunities, and help children enjoy transformative music-making. But we face rising costs too. Running costs are up 6%. We need to raise more funds.

Music enriches lives, but financial hardship locks children from low-income families out of music education and its lifelong benefits – improved wellbeing, confidence, attainment, and creative expression. We work in some of the most deprived areas nationally. 1 in 8 learners rely on financial support as costs threaten to shut doors to empowered, happy futures. Our bursaries hold those doors open, but operational costs are up. We need your help to ensure children receive crucial music education.

This year, Create Music will offer 1,000 bursaries to children from low-income families, helping cover costs of instrumental tuition, ensemble participation, performance opportunities, and instrumental loan where most needed. This support removes financial barriers, ensuring access to music is based on interest, not income. Music is a vital part of each child’s life, nurturing lifelong social and emotional well-being. Bursaries make these joys and opportunities open to everyone.
