Life recognises that simply offering housing is not enough. We offer life skills training and wellbeing sessions for women at risk of homelessness or housing insecurity. A holistic and trauma-informed approach is critical for building their confidence and preparing them for independent living.

Family homelessness is rising by 12% every year, with single mothers most at risk of ending up in unsafe environments. Young women who become pregnant during key years for education and employment can quickly face poverty, housing insecurity and isolation. Many have experienced domestic abuse, trauma or family breakdown. Without support, mothers and babies risk becoming trapped in a vicious cycle of homelessness and disadvantage. Early intervention helps women build stable, independent futures.
Life’s 18 houses provide safe homes and personalised support for pregnant women and new mothers, who would otherwise be living below the poverty line or living in unsupported temporary housing. Women work with a dedicated Support Worker to create a tailored action plan and access trauma-informed, wraparound support. Through life skills, including parenting, nutrition, and budgeting, women build confidence and resilience for independence.
