Cheltenham lacks affordable, professional workshop and learning space for artists, theatre-makers, community groups and creative businesses. Existing facilities at Cheltenham Playhouse are underused and no longer meet modern production, training or community needs. Playhouse Works will transform these spaces into a safe, accessible creative hub where people can build, learn and create, supporting skills development, collaboration, cultural participation and local economic growth.

Playhouse Works will transform underused workshop facilities at Cheltenham Playhouse into an affordable, professional creative hub built around three pillars: Build, Learn and Create. The project will provide modern workshop space, training opportunities, artist workspaces and flexible community facilities. By improving access to equipment, skills development and collaborative creative space, we will support local artists, community groups and creative businesses to thrive.
