The c//yp we work with tell us about struggling with social isolation, low self-esteem, debilitating anxiety, and sleep/eating difficulties. Approximately 33% of cyp bereaved of a parent will reach clinical levels of emotional or behavioural difficulties during the two years following the death, affecting education, family functioning and future life prospects. We help them to develop sustainable relationships amongst their peers, build support networks and increase their resilience.
By ensuring more c/yp benefit from our services through 1) expanding our reach 2) developing more accessible access to our services:- Our group work programmes will move from a single base, to being offered in neighbouring towns making it easier for cyp to attend. C/yp also need other touch points that reduce their feelings of isolation. We will run activity days with local sports clubs, and creative arts venues, to break down barriers and open opportunities for engaging in a fun way.
