Young people today have been hit hard by the pandemic and rising cost of living. Those growing up in low-income, underserved communities have been hardest hit. Many have the talent and potential to succeed, but without access to opportunities and support, they face lower confidence, reduced resilience, and fewer chances to develop key personal skills. Young people need increased access to opportunities to be able to develop these skills through volunteering, leadership and empowerment in sport.

Through #NextGen, StreetGames works with its network of trusted community partners to create leadership and volunteering opportunities through sport. Our proposed #NextGen campaign will use the power of storytelling, youth voice, insight and engagement to mobilise partners to expand access for young people from low-income, underserved communities—helping them build confidence, develop key skills and resilience, and reach their full potential.
