Harrogate Theatre will use £5,000 to donate tickets to local charities, enabling people who can’t usually afford a theatre trip the chance to enjoy shows from pantomime to drama, music to comedy. The project will reduce isolation, create joyful shared experiences and welcome more of our community.

For many people in and around Harrogate, the rising cost of living means live theatre has become an unaffordable treat. Families, older people, unpaid carers, people living with poor health, disability, loneliness or financial hardship can be excluded from cultural experiences that bring joy, confidence and connection. Without support, those who could benefit most from a shared night out are least able to access one.
Harrogate Theatre will create a donated ticket fund, working with trusted local charities and community partners to identify people who would not otherwise be able to attend. Partners will distribute tickets sensitively and fairly to beneficiaries for our brilliant and varied programme, including pantomime, drama, music and comedy. By removing the financial barrier we can welcome more people to enjoy live performance, make incredible memories and boost their well-being.
