Women and families in South London's most deprived wards, Croydon and Lambeth, face deepening poverty, food insecurity, isolation and unsafe homes. One group is locked out of statutory support entirely: refugees, asylum seekers, women with no recourse to public funds, and women facing language and cultural barriers. They fall through every gap, with nowhere safe to turn for food, advice or protection from abuse.

SWAN is a women-led charity designed by the women who use it. From our weekly drop-in, community pantry and food bank we provide food, emergency grants, advice and advocacy on housing, welfare and legal issues, period-poverty support, and safe help for women and children fleeing domestic abuse. We are language-accessible and culturally aware, reaching women other services miss. Many of our 160+ volunteers first came to us for help and now support others.
