c.1,605 cardiac arrests occur annually in our region, yet low confidence stops many people giving CPR before emergency services arrive. The community is the first and most critical link in the chain of survival. When equipped and engaged, young people can be a powerful force to transform outcomes. CPR Smart will equip more young people with the life-saving skills and confidence to act when every second counts

CPR Smart will expand access to life-saving skills for young people in1300-1400 primary and secondary schools and colleges across Essex and Hertfordshire. Led by clinicians, CPR Smart uses a sustainable train-the-trainer model where students and teachers are taught to deliver Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) training to peers and younger students. The free programme also provides ongoing support, creating an enduring network of life-savers.
