Reductions in creative provision and unequal opportunities mean that young West Londoners, especially those from lower-income and underrepresented backgrounds, miss out on the chance to realise their creative potential or access the personal, social and professional benefits that arts participation can provide. Lack of access limits self-expression, impacts wellbeing, and contributes to wider inequalities in educational outcomes, social mobility and representation within the creative industries.
REWIND works with young people aged 11–18 at risk of disengaging from education, using theatre-based activities to help them re-engage with learning. START supports ages 16–25 who are NEET with mentorship, accredited learning and pathways into further education, training and employment. SPRINGBOARD offers actor training and industry access for aspiring creatives aged 18–25 from underrepresented backgrounds, helping them overcome barriers and build sustainable careers in the performing arts.
