Children in Tanzania bear the heaviest burden of poverty, severely deprived, without access to schooling. Only 32% of Tanzanian boys complete secondary school, most fail, drop out or are excluded when they can't afford uniforms or supplies. Without skills for good jobs, they are trapped in permanent poverty. Our boys' school in Dodoma has 18 new classrooms to teach boys the vital skills for local jobs but desks, chairs & blackboards are urgently needed to equip the classrooms ready for teaching.
Our Sisters of Mary school in Dodoma, Tanzania educates the poorest boys in the country. With properly equipped classrooms and enough chairs and desks for each child, 1200 of these impoverished boys can receive a quality, nationally accredited, academic and vocational education delivered by local teachers. Having the skills they need to secure meaningful, local employment, these boys can build independent & poverty free lives not just for themselves but for generations of their families.
