Based in South London, Nehemiah provides safe housing and holistic addiction recovery support for vulnerable for men who have experienced substance misuse. We offer men an opportunity to overcome addiction, move away from poverty and homelessness, and break the re-offending cycle.

Addiction rarely exists in isolation. Men experiencing substance misuse are also often navigating mental health challenges, unstable housing, and involvement with the criminal justice system. Most Nehemiah residents arrive carrying trauma, loss or fractured relationships. Some come from prison, others are homeless or come from treatment elsewhere. These pressures combine to make recovery more difficult, and they highlight why Nehemiah’s holistic support is essential.

Men who come to Nehemiah are given a safe and stable place to live, the foundation for change. Residents then journey through an abstinence-based recovery programme which combines counselling, peer support and one-to-one keywork, helping them face and overcome the root causes of addiction. We also provide family support, helping men rebuild family relationships. Our move-on programme helps residents prepare for independent living, building the skills and purpose they need for lasting recovery.
