At Nucleo, we believe no child should miss out on the benefits of musical education. Through offering free orchestral music education, we reach children and young people from disadvantaged communities in London. Music education builds confidence and life skills giving a lifelong impact.

The wealthiest UK children are nearly three times more likely to take part in music education than children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Children in low-income families can’t access extra-curricular activities because of the cost. Young people are increasingly saying they feel isolated. Nucleo delivers free music education delivering multiple sessions each week. This enables children and young people to come together to make connections, develop life skills, and build community networks.
Nucleo is open to any young Londoner aged 0-20 and supports over 400 students a year through free ensemble music education. Nucleo offers ongoing learning from beginners through to Grade 8+ and includes free instrument loans. We use the Income Deprivation Affecting Children Index to prioritise programme places. We reach children and young people who struggle to access youth services due to their cost, supporting them to realise their potential through the power of collective music-making.
