Islington is one of the most unequal places in the country, facing increasing financial difficulty and isolation (Challenging Inequality report, Cripplegate Foundation, 2023). With one of the highest rates of children growing up in poverty (43%) and those living with mental ill health in England (20,000 residents live with depression), many people are missing out on the local creative opportunities that improve their wellbeing, bridge connection to their community and develop new skills.

Kings Place: Belong is our Community & Education programme delivering free creative opportunities for lifelong learning and the enjoyment of a variety of music genres. We do this through our public workshops, live shows and talent development pathways that promote community cohesion, challenge local deprivation and nurture the diverse talent of those in our community. These activities are entirely free to participants, overcoming any financial barriers to ensure everyone can take part.
