One in three adults experience a mental health challenge in their lifetime. The North East experiences high levels of deprivation, suicide and self-harm with public sector service pressures that mean local people face long wait times for essential mental health support. Barriers are widespread and include stigma, limited awareness of local services, and overlapping challenges that make meeting an individual’s needs difficult. We ensure no person experiences their mental health struggles alone.

Tyneside and Northumberland Mind offer flexible, responsive wrap-around support that recognises individual triggers and inequalities that may amplify mental health problems, this includes health difficulties, financial insecurity, household breakdowns, bereavement, neurodivergence, loneliness and isolation. All support is underpinned by lived experiences and works with the person to understand personal challenges with relevant mental health help provided.
