Globally, animal health sees only a fraction of the investment allocated to human health. But there are profound interconnections between the health of wildlife, domestic animals and people; all our futures depend on understanding how protecting animal health now is key to wider planetary wellbeing.

Biodiversity loss and climate change, largely driven by human activity, threaten all life on Earth. While the COVID pandemic raised awareness of how diseases can spillover from wildlife to humans, we still urgently need to better integrate wildlife health into conservation planning, public health protection and pandemic prevention. But access to essential training remains difficult and expensive for many veterinary professionals and others working on the conservation frontline who need it most.

We help build in-country wildlife medicine capacity in some of the world’s most biodiverse rich but resource poor regions by providing and funding practical training to give local vets the knowledge, skills and confidence to protect wild animal health. Our experienced Veterinary Partners deliver training tailored to local circumstances, at a pace that allows new practices to become embedded. We enable frontline conservationists to detect and respond to disease before it becomes a serious threat.
