GUA Africa's Gatwitch Hub is a lifeline for women and children in Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya. This Christmas, help us launch a women's textiles business programme, build a new classroom, expand early years provision and grow our community garden, doubling every pound you give.

Kakuma Refugee Camp houses over 200,000 people, more than 80% of whom are women and children. Women face significant barriers to economic independence, with few vocational training opportunities and limited access to sustainable livelihoods. The camp's 44,000 primary school children share uniforms between up to six children, with no affordable, standardised solution. Meanwhile we’ve outgrown Gatwitch Hub, a vital community space for education, early years care and women's leadership.
We will launch a Women's Business and Textiles Programme, training women in garment production and business skills, supported by a self-sustaining studio where they can rent machines and grow their own enterprises. We will also build a new classroom, expand our Early Years and garden programmes, and add toilet facilities within the Gatwitch Hub, a community-led sanctuary offering peace, safety and opportunity in Kakuma Refugee Camp.
