Opportunities to access the theatre industry are often focused around metropolitan centres, with regional voices struggling to break through. We believe the industry needs to nurture and platform more regional writers in order to contribute to a healthy arts ecosystem. The East also sees wide areas of deprivation, and storytelling has a vital role to play in giving marginalised communities a voice and building literacy and oracy skills in children who need it most.

HighTide will champion and empower our community of playwrights and storytellers through: - writer development programmes, empowering playwrights to advance their craft and build a sustainable career in the arts. - developing and producing bold, new plays that reflect the world that we live in through high-quality productions - our community engagement programme; working with schoolchildren in disadvantaged areas and with marginalised groups to help them find their voice through storytelling.
