Lambeth and Croydon face high levels of deprivation, with around one in four residents living in poverty and demand for food support continuing to rise. In the past year alone, over 23,000 people accessed our foodbank. Many households tell us they are experiencing acute cost‑of‑living pressures, with rising food and energy costs forcing people to choose between heating and eating. Without intervention, families face worsening food insecurity, poor nutrition and increased financial hardship.

Our approach is effective because it tackles multiple, interconnected challenges through a practical, community-based model. By providing nutritious food parcels through our foodbank, we address immediate food insecurity. We also offer welcoming, inclusive spaces where people can share the issues they are facing, seek help and build social networks. By providing benefits, debt and housing advice, we empower individuals to tackle the root causes of their poverty and build more stable futures.
