Floods, heatwaves, crop failures and clean water shortages are no longer distant threats in the UK: they’re here right now. The UK’s ability to adapt to the impacts, as well as mitigate against them, is being hampered. The cross-party consensus has broken down within Parliament; the far right is using dis-information to slow the transition to a clean energy future; and the Government isn’t feeling sufficient pressure from the voting public to take more urgent climate and nature action required.
Zero Hour will call on the Government to tackle the national security threat that is ecosystem collapse, prepare communities for climate impacts and end oil & gas.
