Rural communities in Zimbabwe are poor with limited opportunities; they rely on subsistence farming and livestock for income. In villages near wildlife areas, human-wildlife conflict; crop-raiding and livestock predation by wild animals directly threaten food security and income, and pose safety risks. Schools have limited resources and lower attainment than the national average. Perceptions and behaviours towards wildlife, including endangered species, can be fraught.

Our holistic program of proven interventions will build local capacity, increase economic resilience, and reduce pressure on wildlife. Training and solutions for people to protect livestock and mitigate human-wildlife conflict will improve livelihoods. Exciting and engaging educational opportunities for children and adults to learn about wildlife conservation and the benefits wildlife brings to local communities will improve knowledge and awareness of wildlife and promote coexistence.
