More than 600 elephants are in captivity in zoos and circuses across Europe. Before Pangea, there was no large-scale sanctuary to rehome them. Now that we've received our first elephants, we need to expand their habitat and give them room to roam, shelter from the sun and water features to bathe in and drink.

We work with zoos, circuses and governments to offer lifelong sanctuary to elephants in need. By helping nature recover on our 1000-acre reserve, we are creating a rich, diverse habitat where elephants can roam freely and live more naturally. They receive individualised, expert care rooted in approaches endorsed by world-leading sanctuary specialists and wild elephant biologists. Our education and advocacy programmes will help raise awareness and inspire improved standards across Europe.
