For a child with a physical disability in rural Tanzania, a wheelchair is more than a piece of equipment, it is a pathway to education, healthcare, friendship and independence. Just Wheels provides life-changing mobility support, helping children build brighter, more inclusive futures.

Thousands of children with physical disabilities in rural Tanzania are excluded from education, healthcare and community life because they lack a safe, appropriate wheelchair. Without mobility, many become isolated at home, develop preventable health complications and miss opportunities to learn and thrive. Families face significant physical and financial burdens, while access to wheelchair services and repairs remains extremely limited.

Just Wheels provides appropriate, individually assessed wheelchairs to children and young people with physical disabilities in rural Tanzania. Through wheelchair assessment camps, caregiver training, follow-up support and local repair services, we improve mobility, health and independence. Our growing wheelchair workshop in Tabora is building local capacity to repair and eventually manufacture wheelchairs, creating a sustainable, long-term solution for the region.
