From ancient woodland to wild coastline, nature in Essex is special. We have launched an appeal to raise £1 million by 2030 to protect and restore the wild places and species we all love. With your support, we can invest in nature’s recovery and build a wilder future for nature and people.

Nature in Essex is under pressure like never before. Woodlands are shrinking, river health is worsening, and the chorus of songbirds grows quieter. If we don’t act, some of this loss could be irreversible by 2030. We have just three years to make a change – and we believe in a wilder Essex. Do you?
Essex Wildlife Trust has been nature’s guardian for 67 years. We manage nearly 100 nature reserves and protect over 3,000 hectares of Essex’s landscape. Our work is built on three simple goals: create more space for wildlife, improve habitats, and connect landscapes. Making this happen is not simple. By raising £1 million by 2030, we can deliver bigger, better, connected spaces for nature. Together, we can build a future where people live in a wilder Essex.
