Since 1955, St Francis Dogs Home has rescued, rehabilitated and rehomed thousands of dogs across Cornwall. We give every dog a second chance, regardless of their medical or behavioural needs. As a grassroots charity, we rely on donations to keep our doors open to dogs in need.

Our small dog rescue is facing unprecedented challenges. Rising living costs, housing restrictions and changes in personal circumstances are leading to more dogs being surrendered, while veterinary, food and utility costs continue to increase. We are currently operating at capacity, with limited resources to meet growing demand. Without public support, it becomes increasingly difficult to provide the care, rehabilitation and safe homes that vulnerable dogs need.

We aim to utilise our volunteer behaviourists to support owners who may be struggling with their dogs, and if needed, support them in finding their dog a new home. Donations to our rescue will help cover veterinary treatment, food, training and rehabilitation, while volunteers and foster carers expand our capacity to help more animals. By supporting our community, adopting responsibly and raising awareness, we can ensure vulnerable dogs receive the care, safety and loving homes they deserve.
